RASHAAN HORNSBY, FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Rashaan Hornsby is a Father, successful Entrepreneur, Community Leader, Coach, Visionary and currently the Founder/ CEO/ President of the multimedia entertainment & management company Visionary Entertainment, Royal Paper Company and Co Founder of M.A.G.I.C. On Haddon. Rashaan was born and raised in Camden, NJ by his parents Helen D. LaMarr & Brian Keith Redd which is his stepfather. Rashaan’s biological father is Glenn Hornsby. Hornsby’s belief is that in order to be truly successful in life, you have to be connected on all three levels in life and those being Spiritually, Mentally and Physically. Rashaan has always had a driving passion for music as long as he can remember, also for business. Rashaan’s musical journey started in elementary school. Rashaan started managing and learning about the business side of the Music Industry when he was about 17 yrs old. The first artist he managed was a local Hip- Hop artist from Camden, NJ.

Rashaan attended Camden County College where he majored in Business Administration and maintained a 4.0 GPA. Always believing that you can never fail in life if you never quit, Hornsby went on to start his own Record & Management Company in July of 2008. Another mantra of Rashaan’s is “Men & Women of Caliber don’t use the word can’t unless it proceeds the word fail.” In addition to being a music executive, Rashaan is the owner of Bertha Elizabeth Real Estate, A&R Facility & Property Management, Hornsby Farms & Markets, Health Nutz and Quick Snacks Vending, LLC. Rashaan was awarded “Small Business Person of the Year” in 2021 by Cooper’s Ferry Partnership for his business Royal Paper Company.  Hornsby is also  very passionate about giving back to children and the community. That’s why he was the President of the Centerville Simbas Youth Sports Organization for 11 years and a Head  Coach for 15 years. The Simbas are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1969  that provides Football, Flag Football, Cheerleading, Baseball, Basketball, Girls Tennis  and Mentoring to youth ages 4-15 years old in the City of Camden. Rashaan is also the  Co-Founder and former Vice President of the Camden Wolverines Wrestling Club

Outside of sports, Rashaan was a board member for two years with the grassroots organization, The Village of Camden, a grassroots organization focusing on programs and initiatives for the youth and families. The Village of Camden lead an initiative called “Walk 2.4 Miles” In My Shoes. This initiative focused on highlighting the reality of how far some Camden school children must walk to and from school because they live just below the 2.5-mile threshold for transportation by school buses under state regulations. The walk included community advocates, the Superintendent, educators, public officials, parents and students that got to witness how unsafe and challenging the 42-minute walk could be. “Walk 2.4 Miles” was a success with the Superintendent allocating an additional $1.5 million for increased transportation. In 2016, Mr. Hornsby spearheaded the 1st Annual City Wide Spelling Bee in partnership with The Village of Camden,  Camden City Board of Education, and The NJEA. The Bee was for student’s 5th – 8th grade and 9th – 12th grade. Mr. Hornsby is currently the President of the Haddon Ave  Business Association. Rashaan formerly managed the Teen Celebrity *YUNG POPPA*,  which also is his son. Rashaan Hornsby also has four beautiful children: Rashaan  Hornsby Jr., Ashaanti Hornsby and Twins Acai’ Hornsby & Rahsaan Hornsby. He’s also  a proud grandfather of his 1st grandson Khali Hamir Hornsby. His passion for being a  father has birthed the “90 Day Fathers Challenge” Initiative which promotes fatherhood,

family and legacy building every morning through Facebook Live as he takes his children to school. Mr. Hornsby is the Founder & President of the Education Over Everything  Foundation a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 2012. The organization focuses on Youth Entrepreneurship, Music & Arts, Literacy, Fashion Design, Urban  Farming and Fatherhood. for Youth 5th-12th grade in the City of Camden and  Philadelphia, PA region. Rashaan wants his actions and commitment to show the masses that anything is possible through Faith in God & one’s self.

Ernest a. ford, vice PRESIDENT

Ernest A. Ford born in Washington D.C. and raised in Long Island, NY; is a multidisciplinary artist and owner of Ernest A Ford Art Studios also known as FAE Fake Artist Ern. FAE is known for Mural designs and works on canvas, apparel, home goods, furniture as well as digital works. A graduate of Howard University 05’ with a BA in Television & Film production; Ernest is also a Photographer and former Television producer and On-air promo scheduler by trade. Working with companies such as National Geographic Channel, Bet Networks, Washington Sports Ent. WNBA Washington Mystics. Ernest runs his own digital media company ErnEDITS Media LLC. where he creates digital assets (Logos, NFTs, Line sheets, etc.) content (Photos, Promo Videos, podcasts), and marketing materials (websites, fliers) for start-up businesses as well as established ones. Ernest also is a former Title one math and literacy 3-6th grade teacher and founding member of M.A.N.U.P. Making A New United People a non-profit founded in Takoma park Maryland; that works with youth ages 10-21 on a wide array of activities from community service, cultural trips, mentor pairing to name a few. Ernest, is also an author, best known for his children's book series Book Bear, a collection of historical references for children. Book Bear led to the wonderful collaboration series with Rashaan Hornsby entitled Camden Great! a series of children’s books highlighting some of the great people of color Judges Doctors Entertainers Athletes and more hailing from Camden NJ. The love for education and the constant learning and growth of our people is a driving force behind Mr. Ford’s passion to push Education Over Everything forward with great men that he calls his brothers.

Amir “Astro Av” Gilliams, Treasurer

Astro Av has built a reputation for himself that is unmatched. Known for his cocky flows, witty punch lines and high sense of fashion and style he is a common house hold name on the east coast hip hop scene.  Not only is Yo_Astro a word smith and master Mc, he also is an up and coming fashion mogul.  He is the CEO and President of AVRApparel & AVR MUZIK LLC which is an acronym for “American Viewed Rebels”.  It specializes in custom made urban couture designed exclusively by Yo_Astro aka Astro Av, which has in turn also enabled him to launch a premiere line “The AVR Life”.  His nearness to the entertainment scene and party life enables him to stay up to date with all the latest styles and trends in fashion which is why his personal designs are always one step ahead of the competition.  His designs have been featured in countless fashion shows and have been sold by many of his business partners and store locations on the east coast including but not limited to Lids, Urban Café, Shoe Kings, Status Shop, Philly Diamond Connection, Real Sports, and Forbidden Look.  Yo_Astro is such a talented and gifted artist that the only place he can continue to go from this point is up!  He has forged his name and spot in the game and has all intentions of widening his reach and influence. As he continually progresses forward, he is guaranteed to keep his fans and supporters on the edge of their seats waiting to see what he is going to do next.   As Yo_Astro puts it, “Do it right, and then do it better!”

SAAD BrabHAM, SERGEANT AT ARMS

Saad Brabham is a 37 and hails from the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area. He attended Dobbins/Randolph Vocational Tech in 1997 and graduated in the year of 2000. Coming from a Vocational School, Saad learned skills to secure multiple positions in the carpentry field. While obtaining one of the top 3 grades in his class, At the tender age of 16, Saad was able to leave High School on a Co-Op opportunity and start employment at Unisource Molding Co. After 3 years of helping build over 100 houses in the Philadelphia/Tri-State area, The company moved to Pittsburgh. In a desperate plea to remain afloat, Saad started training for his Commercial Driving License. A few years later after driving for the Philadelphia School District, Saad noticed a void that needed to be filled in the education and transportation industry, Thus the Cool Bus” was created! With the goal in mind to uplift and motivate the youth, Saad partnered with the prestigious  Education Over Everything Foundation in hopes of bringing this mission to the forefront. 

Brian Phillips M.S., Outreach coordinator

Brian Phillips is a proud product of Camden, New Jersey. He believes everyone is born on purpose for a specific purpose. Brian has dedicated nearly a decade and a half of servant leadership and community activism to Camden, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas by educating and uplifting youth and families. Early in his life, Brian noticed the crippling disparities that plagued his hometown, so he decided to transform his city by helping individuals realize their potential to become self-reliant, self-motivated, and most importantly, more purposefully positioned.Most recently, Brian oversaw the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, on the Rutgers-Camden campus. Through this unique pre-college experience, students and families were exposed to yearly programming, events, support services, trips, experiential learning opportunities, and mentoring starting in the 7th grade. These services continued through their middle school years, high school years and to college and beyond. Students who successfully completed the program and were admitted to Rutgers received a full tuition scholarship. Students that pursued opportunities beyond college were offered continued mentorship and guidance. Brian is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in Community Development under the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Rutgers University-Camden. He is a co-founder of Heart of the City Youth Advocacy where he and others are committed to helping the youth through holistic wellness, sports, and education. He is also the founder and CEO of Phillips Consulting Services where he aids in the areas of health and fitness, holistic wellness and mental health, education and career planning, business development, as well as advertising with specifications in marketing and branding. Brian’s innate ability to connect with individuals, coupled with his knack for resource gathering and sharing allows him to make daily strides in his life’s mission. Brian began coaching in 2010 and he continues to coach throughout the city of Camden and is an avid sports lover. He empowers individuals and families by creating pathways for them to pursue their passions, by providing personal and professional growth opportunities, and by using daily dilemmas as teachable moments. Brian is truly committed to the growth of youth, families, and all those seeking transformative experiences and opportunities.

tiffany jones, SEcretary

Ms. Jones was introduced to the Education Over Everything Foundation in November 2021, by Mrs. Norma Daniels-Yambasu. Here is where she met Mr. Rashaan Hornsby, Founder, and through his generosity, he offered to donate his business space at Visionary Entertainment located on the second floor of 1216 Haddon Ave. Camden, NJ 08103, every Wednesday night from 5pm-8pm, to help the people within the city of Camden and beyond with their financial needs. These needs extend from financial literacy, credit repair, tax preparation, business building and funding, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Currently Ms. Jones is operating as the Secretary for the Education Over Everything Foundation, where she is also a Board Member and works alongside a phenomenal team. We welcome Ms. Jones to our foundation.
